Kathryn's 6th Birthday

For Kathryn's sixth birthday we had a small family get together to watch football and enjoy a little family time.  As you can see Kathryn and Eli loved getting to spend the time together.  Ruby was passed around like a little football.  Her homeade birthday cake turned out really good that her Granna made.  It was a great day!

Kathryn's 6th Birthday

Tomorrow is Kathryn's 6th birthday and I can't wait to celebrate with her. I never understood the impact kids made on your life until I had her. I knew that she was going to be one of a kind the first moment I saw those eyes. I can't believe that she is already 6! Oh how time flies.

To Kathryn:

You will never understand the impact that you have made on my life. Even though you have always been Aunt Amy's "Angel" and Papa's "precious grandbaby" you will always be MY Sunshine. You have got through some of my darkest days! I love you so much and always will. Hope you have a happy happy birthday!! :-)

Zoo trip

Kathryn's kindergarten class had a field trip to the zoo this week.  We have been looking forward to this trip all month long.  Of course the day that we are scheduled to go it is raining cats and dogs.  Needless to say we went anyways.  She and I circled that zoo hoping to get to see as much as possible.  We had a great time regardless of the rain.  We saw a tiger, monkeys, and Kathryn's favorite a llama.  Below are some picture of this fun outing that she and I had.

Coupons

I have recently fell in love with coupons!  I never really noticed how much I could save.  No, I am not one of the people who have a stock pile, but I do enjoy getting a "deal"!  I have watched sales papers for different items that I use.  I have figured out that certain things seem to be on sale every few weeks.  For the ones of you who say I don't have the time, if I can do it trust me anyone can.  You make the time to go to work, why not save the money you make at work by doing a little bit of work.  A tip sign up for www.southernsavers.com mailing list.  It is free and will help you find bargins for the week.  Happy Couponing! :-)

14 weeks of Pregnancy

I am so excited to finally be able to share with everyone about baby Norton.  We are now 14 weeks and counting.  I could really be excited and starting to prepare if I wasn't so SICK.  For those of you who are sick the whole time during pregnancy "God Bless YOU!".  I was never sick with Kathryn and they keep telling me that I should be close to being over the nausea.  Hopefully it will end soon.  We will be able to find out next month what the gender of the baby will be.  I can't wait for this not that it matters,  boy or girl either would be great.

#48 New Bedroom Linens:

#48 New Bedroom Linens:

I have complete my bedroom and Kathryn's bedroom. I will post pictures when I get my pillows and stuff finished. I am so glad that our rooms are finally presentable. I have decided that the decorating thing is really not me but I am a work in progress. Hopefully I will have everything done soon!

#50 Update Blinds

#50 Update Blinds:

Well I have finally finished my blinds or should I say most of my blinds. I have updated all but my kitchen area, laundry room, bathroom, and two doors. I am really not sure what I want to put over them. Do any of you have any suggestions? I don't really want to buy something on a quick fix that is what I have now. I want something that will look good and that I can have for a long time. Please help!

#22 & #44

#22-Organize Papers & #44 Clean out a closet:

I have finally went through what I would say was a mess. I have had a 3 drawer plastic device that has been a way for me to store all of these papers. After several years of mail and junk accumulating in these drawers I have finally cleaned them out. Not because I wanted to and not necessarily because it was on my list but because I had to. I have never realized how many bugs could be near the water. I have discovered bugs that I have never seen since we have moved to the house. Ants have been the most annoying thing. One Sunday I came home from church and realized that ants were in my closet and in my papers. What would they want from papers? Well it seems I had kept one of Kathryn's art collection in the drawer and she had put Cheerios on a snowman. BINGO! I also got my closet in order during this experience. Needless to say I have called pest control the very next day hopefully to not have this problem again.

#34 Read a new book

I can honestly say that I love giving myself these goals. I have just finished the book "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. It was a great book. I have totally feel in love with his books. I thought that if I got finished with it that I would love another book of his. So far out of the many books I have tried to finish his have been the only books that I actually seem to finish. I am not sure if it is his writing or what but whatever it is I love the books. I would love to read other books please let me know if you have any suggestions.

#12 Go on a picnic

I have completed a goal of going on a picnic. I woke up yesterday morning and thought that since I would be off on Monday today would be a great day for a picnic. Jerry, Kathryn and myself drove to Cave Springs Georgia. We had a great time. I carried sandwiches and different nicknack's to the park with us. We ate, went to explore the cave and played on the playground. Kathryn was dying to play in the spring but since it has turned off like fall I was afraid for her to. We did however stick our feet in the water and it was quite cold. I really enjoyed our time together that was the main thing. This is a perfect time of year for a picnic!

#8 Make a new recipe every month (September):

#8 Make a new recipe every month (September):
This month for my recipe I decided to try a recipe that my mom had already made and I loved it. It is great recipe for Football season because it is an appetizer. Corn Salad is the recipe it calls to put the corn chips in the recipe but I serve them on the side to scoop up the salad. Great recipe you should try it.
Corn Salad:2 (15 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 1 cup mayonnaise 1 cup green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup red onion, chopped 1 (10 1/2 ounce) bag coarsely crushed (if you want to put them in the salad crush them)Frito's chili cheese corn chips

Mix first 5 ingredients and chill.

#8 Make a new recipe every month (August)

#8 Make a new recipe every month (August):
Don't you just get tired of cooking the same old thing. I told Jerry that I was going to try some new recipes and he said "Why". Guess everyone is just not the same. Well I decided to carry on with my new recipe and it was pretty good. I am one of those people that like something quick and easy during the week and this recipe turned out pretty good.
Tater tot Casserole:
1 lb of hamburger meat
1 Onion
2 cans of Cream of Mushroom
5 oz Milk
1 2lb bag of Tater tots
Shredded Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown hamburger meat and onion. Drain hamburger meat and put it in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish. Add tater tots to the top of the meat. Mix together Cream of Mushroom and milk and salt and pepper to taste. Pour over tater tots and add shredded cheese to top. Cook on 350 for 30 to 40 minutes.

I am also trying the Strawberry Pretzel Salad but am not quite finished with it yet.

#23 Create an address book

#23 Create an address book:
I have had great success with new technology as Facebook to be able to contact friends and get there address. I have several more address that I want to get but address books get updated all the time. The point was to get it and start it. I have been terrible about keeping up with friends and family. I think when you start families of your own, get jobs, and become a grown up it is difficult to find time to keep in contact with friends. It is not that you don't think of them just the time issue always comes in the way of keeping in touch. Don't you wish I lives would slow down to enjoy them?

We have internet!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post some new blogs. I never realized what a luxury that Internet was until we did not have it anymore. It took me calling around to even find Internet here in Centre. Can you believe that AT&T does not even cover this area? I hope to start working again on my blogs. I have a few that I typed and saved on my computer in the hopes that we would one day have Internet again. I hope to not only get caught up in my blogging but also the 50 that I haven't finished. Hope you keep reading!
