14 weeks of Pregnancy

I am so excited to finally be able to share with everyone about baby Norton.  We are now 14 weeks and counting.  I could really be excited and starting to prepare if I wasn't so SICK.  For those of you who are sick the whole time during pregnancy "God Bless YOU!".  I was never sick with Kathryn and they keep telling me that I should be close to being over the nausea.  Hopefully it will end soon.  We will be able to find out next month what the gender of the baby will be.  I can't wait for this not that it matters,  boy or girl either would be great.

#48 New Bedroom Linens:

I have complete my bedroom and Kathryn's bedroom. I will post pictures when I get my pillows and stuff finished. I am so glad that our rooms are finally presentable. I have decided that the decorating thing is really not me but I am a work in progress. Hopefully I will have everything done soon!

#50 Update Blinds

#50 Update Blinds:

Well I have finally finished my blinds or should I say most of my blinds. I have updated all but my kitchen area, laundry room, bathroom, and two doors. I am really not sure what I want to put over them. Do any of you have any suggestions? I don't really want to buy something on a quick fix that is what I have now. I want something that will look good and that I can have for a long time. Please help!

#22 & #44

#22-Organize Papers & #44 Clean out a closet:

I have finally went through what I would say was a mess. I have had a 3 drawer plastic device that has been a way for me to store all of these papers. After several years of mail and junk accumulating in these drawers I have finally cleaned them out. Not because I wanted to and not necessarily because it was on my list but because I had to. I have never realized how many bugs could be near the water. I have discovered bugs that I have never seen since we have moved to the house. Ants have been the most annoying thing. One Sunday I came home from church and realized that ants were in my closet and in my papers. What would they want from papers? Well it seems I had kept one of Kathryn's art collection in the drawer and she had put Cheerios on a snowman. BINGO! I also got my closet in order during this experience. Needless to say I have called pest control the very next day hopefully to not have this problem again.

#34 Read a new book

I can honestly say that I love giving myself these goals. I have just finished the book "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. It was a great book. I have totally feel in love with his books. I thought that if I got finished with it that I would love another book of his. So far out of the many books I have tried to finish his have been the only books that I actually seem to finish. I am not sure if it is his writing or what but whatever it is I love the books. I would love to read other books please let me know if you have any suggestions.

#12 Go on a picnic

I have completed a goal of going on a picnic. I woke up yesterday morning and thought that since I would be off on Monday today would be a great day for a picnic. Jerry, Kathryn and myself drove to Cave Springs Georgia. We had a great time. I carried sandwiches and different nicknack's to the park with us. We ate, went to explore the cave and played on the playground. Kathryn was dying to play in the spring but since it has turned off like fall I was afraid for her to. We did however stick our feet in the water and it was quite cold. I really enjoyed our time together that was the main thing. This is a perfect time of year for a picnic!

#8 Make a new recipe every month (September):

#8 Make a new recipe every month (September):
This month for my recipe I decided to try a recipe that my mom had already made and I loved it. It is great recipe for Football season because it is an appetizer. Corn Salad is the recipe it calls to put the corn chips in the recipe but I serve them on the side to scoop up the salad. Great recipe you should try it.
Corn Salad:2 (15 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 1 cup mayonnaise 1 cup green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup red onion, chopped 1 (10 1/2 ounce) bag coarsely crushed (if you want to put them in the salad crush them)Frito's chili cheese corn chips

Mix first 5 ingredients and chill.
